About Me

I am an artist from Adana, Turkey, currently living and working in London. I studied Sculpture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul, and I am now continuing my practice through the MFA Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London.

My work comes from things I notice in everyday life: small habits, repetitive movements, objects, memories, and things that are easy to overlook. I am interested in how these small actions can become ways of communicating, remembering, and relating to the spaces around us.

Growing up in Adana has been an important part of my visual and personal memory. The places I grew up in, everyday objects, food, domestic life, and childhood experiences often find their way into my work, sometimes directly and sometimes in more abstract forms. I am interested in how these memories change over time and how something very personal can also become familiar to someone else.

I mainly work with sculpture, installation, video, and performance. I like working with materials that can change, break down, transform, or carry traces of the body, such as stone, clay, wax, and organic materials. Recently, I have also been working with digital and video-based processes alongside physical materials.

My current practice continues to explore memory, repetition, the body, and different ways of communicating beyond language. At Goldsmiths, I am interested in developing these ideas further and seeing where they can take me through experimentation, research, and making.
